Zakia Jafri has raised questions on the investigation of the SIT in the matter of the petition against the clean chit to the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the 2002 riots case in Gujarat. In the Supreme Court, Jafri said that the SIT did not follow the procedure in the investigation.

गुजरात में साल 2002 में हुए दंगों के मामले में तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को क्लीन चिट के खिलाफ याचिका के मामले में जाकिया जाफरी ने SIT की जांच पर सवाल उठाए हैं. सुप्रीम कोर्ट में जाफरी ने कहा कि SIT ने जांच में प्रक्रिया का पालन नहीं किया.
