Tushar Gandhi, great grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, has recently filed a PIL opposing one of PM Modi's pet projects — the redevelopment of Sabarmati Ashram into a 'world class memorial'. Gandhi said, “The government has very systematically tried to erase a period from our history whether it's the Central Vista project, or what they ended up doing at Jallianwala Bagh. If we lose Sabarmati Ashram, a living memorial to Bapu will be lost.”
