Diwali and pollution have become synonymous for the residents of Delhi and adjoining areas. Almost every year, air pollution chokes the national capital just before the festive season. This is attributed to mainly crop burning in adjoining states, cracker bursting and unfavourable climatic conditions that do not allow the pollutants to disperse.
