County Starts To Donate Relief Food To Combat Drought In Kilifi

The County Government Of Kilifi Has Commenced The Distribution Of Relief Food And Water In Drought-Ravaged Parts Of The County. Governor Amason Kingi Said Thursday That His Government Had Deployed Resources Under The Drought Response Docket To Assist Affected Families With Water And Relief Food Following The Unprecedented Drought. The Governor Said This At The Ganze Sub County Administrator's Office In Ganze Town Where He Distributed 300 Bags Of Maize And 100 Bags Of Beans. Ganze, Magarini, Kilifi And Rabai Sub Counties Are The Worst Hit By The Drought That Has Led To A Total Crop Failure For The Last Three Years. Livestock Have Also Started Dying Due To Lack Of Pasture And Water. The Governor, Who Was Accompanied By Kilifi North MP Owen Baya. Some Kilifi Members Of County Assembly And County Officials Promising More Aid To The Residents To Cushion Them From The Effects Of The Drought.
