Diwali fails to uplift spirits of flower sellers in Delhi

Footfall was comparatively less at Ghazipur wholesale flower market on Diwali.

"This year sales are down. The price of flowers has increased this time in view of overall inflation. Hence customers are not buying much," said Tinku, a flower seller.

“Over the past year the festival is celebrated by not many people due to Covid-19 and many people lost the lives of their family members. There was a time when the market used to be flooded with people but we don’t have customers to buy the flowers this time,” said another flower seller
