Congress' Rahul Gandhi, RJD's Manoj Jha, Pradyot Manikya Condemn Violence In Tripura

On October 28, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, lashed out at the Modi government over the alleged attacks on mosques, shops and homes in Tripura. He asked, “How long will the government pretend to be deaf and blind?” Mallikarjun Kharge, leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha said, “This is the result of negligence by the state BJP Govt & its propagation of such communal hate-mongering.” Pradyot Manikya, chairman of TIPRA tweeted, “Seeing the violence against Minorities is perhaps one of the most shameful chapters in my political life!” RJD leader Manoj Kumar Jha tweeted, “What is happening in Tripura is such a scary truth of 'New India’.” The incident took place on October 26 evening during a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) rally. The rally was taken out to protest against a series of attacks on Hindus reported during Durga puja in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, the Tripura police appealed to all not to spread rumours.
