Shivamogga Zilla Panchayat in Karnataka provided rent free space to traditional pottery workers to sell earthen lamps. As a result of this, the prices of the lamps have reduced by half. This move benefitted many women SHG (Self Help Group) workers in the district. The workers will not have to pay for shops at government office's premises till Diwali.
