Sudan Engulfed In Violence After Military Carries Out Coup, PM Abdalla Hamdok Released

On October 25, Sudan’s military seized power from a transitional government & dissolved the Sovereign Council. Reportedly, seven people were killed & 140 injured in clashes between soldiers and people on the streets. Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok and other political leaders were detained. Gen Abdel Fattah Burhan is the coup leader. Protests erupted in several cities including Khartoum. As per recent reports, the deposed prime minister of Sudan, Abdalla Hamdok has been allowed to return home. The release of Hamdok and his wife followed international condemnation of Abdel Fattah Burhan’s power control. The United States had said it would suspend support. Secretary-general of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres had tweeted, “Prime Minister Hamdok & all other officials must be released immediately.” Watch the video to know more.
