Qantas To Increase International Routes
Qantas Airways ($QABSY@AUS) said Friday that it will expedite its plans to restart international flights, putting much larger and less economical planes back into service, as quarantine rules ease in Australia. The country currently has one of the strictest COVID-19 quarantine rules in the world, forcing international travelers to stay in a hotel room for 14 days upon arrival. The airline plans to bring half of its 11,000 member workforce back to work by December as both domestic and international flights return to normal. It will also bring back 2 Airbus A380 super-jumbos 3 months earlier than planned while also working with Boeing ($BA@US) on the delivery of 3 new 787-9s. Qantas stock rose 0.18% in early trading on Friday.
