Air Startup Unveils Flying Cars

Israeli startup AIR unveiled its first easy-to-operate electric, vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. It plans to sell the vehicle directly to consumers predominantly in the United States beginning in 2024. AIR has been working with the U.S. Federal Aviation Authority for two years and expects to obtain certification for the AIR ONE, a two-seater flying vehicle, by 2023. AIR raised seed funding just under $10 million last year and has been running unmanned tests of its vehicle. It is currently building prototype models and expects to sell the new vehicle for around the same price as an expensive car.
