Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) announced ‘Rail Roko’ protests across the country on October 18. SKM said during the ‘rail roko’ protest, all train traffic will be stopped for six hours from 10 am till 4 pm. The six-hour-long nationwide agitation was called by the farmers who demanded the removal of Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra from the Union Cabinet. Protesters sat on the railway track at Devi Dasspura village in Amritsar and other places. Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra has been arrested over the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case. The farmers have alleged that Ashish Mishra’s car mowed down four farmers. However, Ajay Mishra refuted the allegations and said that his son was not present at the spot when the incident took place.
