Various parts in southern states received heavy to extremely heavy rainfall. South Interior Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe, and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry witnessed heavy rainfall and strong winds. Many areas faced floods, landslide and flash floods. While 15 died in Kottayam of Kerala due to heavy rains and landslides. Landslides occurred at many places in Idukki and Kottayam. Kottayam area is most affected in Kerala. The Pamba river has also reached at a dangerous level. The water level in Kottayam was so high that houses and trees all came under the grip of water. The debris of many houses fell on the road. The main road to and fro was also affected due to the landslide. It was a very scary sight for the people who were witnesses to the incident.
