Futures Soar Ahead Of Earnings Season
Stock index futures in the U.S. rose on Wednesday prior to J.P. Morgan ($JPM@US) starting the corporate earnings season. Investors are anxious to see results from J.P. Morgan along with inflation data that could push the Federal Reserve to tighten its monetary policies. Mega-caps like Facebook ($FB@US) and Microsoft ($MSFT@US) rose over half a percent in early trading. J.P. Morgan fell slightly ahead of what analysts believe will be a strong earnings report. Conversely, Apple ($AAPL@US) fell 0.7% after planning to cut production of the iPhone 13, and Monster Beverage dropped 1.6% after it was downgraded by Jefferies to “hold” from “buy”.
