2019 के Loksabha Election से पहले Congress ने Sapna Chaudhary को Uttar Pradesh की Mathura Loksabha Seat से Hema Malini के विरोध में चुनाव लड़ाना चाहा। Sapna मान भी गईं। कांग्रेसियों ने दावा किया कि उन्होंने तत्कालीन UP Congress President Raj Babbar के सामने कांग्रेस की सदस्यता भी ले ली है, लेकिन कांग्रेस ने वहां से अपने एक अन्य नेता Mahesh Pathak को चुनाव मैदान में उतार दिया।
