Exxon And Union Discuss Terms

Exxon Mobil ($XOM@US) said Saturday that it’s working with the United Steelworkers on a labor contract that could get locked out workers back into a Texas refinery—a lockout that’s lasted 5 months. Exxon said, “Union provided a one-pager with 24 proposed items” that Exxon said would increase costs. Temporary workers are manning the refinery while 30% of workers represented by the union petitioned the U.S. National Labor Relations Board to force a vote that could remove the union. In spite of the news, Exxon stock rose two and a half percent on rising energy costs.
