Jessie nelson has appeared to have been unfollowed by her former little mix band members after she responded to claims of blackfishing in her debut solo music video little mixed singers jade thirlwall perry edwards and leanne pinnock have all appeared to have unfollowed their former band member jessie nelson on instagram the move comes a day after the star hit back at allegations of blackfishing in her new music video stating shush is very aware that i'm a white british woman the star released her solo debut single boys yesterday and has seemingly been unfollowed by her three former bandmates perry leanne and jade no longer follow the star on the social media platform however the official little mix account still follows her ahead of boy's release jesse unfollowed everyone apart from two accounts the singer followed rappers nicki minaj and sean combs otherwise known as p diddy whose song bad boys for life was featured on her track jessie defended herself after critics accused her of blackfishing which is a term used to describe non-black people who have changed their appearance to appear black or racially ambiguous via the use of makeup hairstyles or cosmetic procedures the allegations emerged after the pop star released her debut solo single boys and its music video according to critics jessie has a very tanned complexion in the video speaking to vulture the singer said she appreciated black culture but stressed she is very aware she is white she said the whole time i was in little mix i never got any of that and then i came out of the band and people all of a sudden were saying it i wasn't on social media around that time so i let my team deal with it because that was when i just left she explained jesse went on but i mean like i love black culture i love black music that's all i know it's what i grew up on she concluded i'm very aware that i'm a white british woman i've never said that i wasn't she ended her statement elsewhere jessie revealed she t spoken to her former bandmates since her exit last year jessie candidly admitted i haven't spoken to the girls it is weird because for so many years we were as close as sisters together every hour of the day for weeks sharing beds laughing crying just 24 7 the four of us together and then nothing she told glamour magazine revealing that she hopes they can all be friends again in the future
