CM Baghel slams UP Govt for not allowing him to land at Lucknow airport

Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary Awanish Awasthi has asked Lucknow airport not to allow Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel and Punjab Deputy CM Sukhjinder S Randhawa to land. They had planned to visit violence-hit Lakhimpur Kheri today.

CM Baghel questioned UP Government’s order. “The way farmers have been treated shows their mentality. It shows that if you stand against them, you will be crushed,” he said.

“The government of Uttar Pradesh is issuing an order not to allow me to come to the state. Have civil rights been suspended in Uttar Pradesh? If Section 144 is in Lakhimpur, then why is the dictatorial government stopping you from landing in Lucknow? Do people no longer have rights in UP? Does one need a visa to visit UP?” Chhattisgarh CM questioned.
