Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Ajay Mishra, was accused of running over protesting farmers with his car on Sunday in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri. Two farmers died as a result of the incident, which led to a huge outcry, the police said. The farmers were protesting the Centre's three farm bills ahead of an event in Ajay Mishra's paternal village in Lakhimpur Kheri's Tikunia, where UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya was to be the chief guest. They had planned to show black flags to the deputy chief minister. The farmers also demonstrated in front of Ashish Mishra's car when he was going to receive Deputy CM. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over this. In a press release, the Chief Minister has said that such an incident is unfortunate. The government will go to the bottom of the reasons in this, will take action against the culprits. Investigation will be done in this matter. Watch this video.
