Peda is a soft milky sweet mainly made from dried whole milk (Mawa or khoya) which originated from Matura. Pedas are the most common sweet served during festivals or occasions in India. It is also very easy to make them. Kesar peda is just a blend of mawa / khoya, sugar, pistachios, and garnished with a flavor of cardamom or saffron. Malai, and Mawa Pedas are soft and have a creamy texture and they just melt in your mouth. Nowadays, a lot of peda flavors have been introduced - chocolate peda, mango peda, strawberry peda but I always like the mawa Peda or kesar peda made of khoya or milk.

Traditionally, this Indian sweet recipe was made by boiling the milk for hours until the milk became completely solid. This process is time-consuming and tedious. A lot of attention is also required to ensure the milk doesn't burn. Nowadays, we get ready-made khoya. But, you can be made it at home with milk powder. It is quite simple. Many people make them in the microwave in just 10 minutes but I generally don’t prefer this method.

Today at Indi Kitchen, we are going to share the most simple and quick method to make Malai Kesar Peda in 10 minutes with milk powder. This is a 4 ingredients recipe - Milk powder, sugar, milk, and fresh cream. Fresh cream makes the pedas soft and delicious in taste. You can’t resist having more than one.

All you need is to roast the milk powder, make one string of sugar syrup, mix milk powder, cool it, and finally shape them as per preference.
