Congress's Punjab Turmoil: Amarinder Singh Says Will Quit Congress

On September 30, former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh declared that he will be quitting the Congress, but will not join the BJP. He said, “I am not remaining in Congress, I am not joining the BJP.” He also spoke about the floor test in the Punjab Assembly. “If the party loses the majority, then the Assembly Speaker has to take the decision,” Singh said. Meanwhile, Sidhu met Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on September 30. As per a NDTV report, a coordination committee will be formed. The committee will monitor the progress of the Congress's promises made before the 2017 Punjab polls.
