LeBron James Says He Got Vaccinated Against COVID , Despite Initial Skepticism.
While speaking with reporters
on Sept. 28, James said he and
his family got the COVID-19 vaccine
after he did his own research.
I think everyone has they own choice — to do what they feel is right for themselves and their family and things of that nature, LeBron James, via statement.
I know that I was very (skeptical) about
it all but after doing my research. I felt
like it was best suited for not only me
but for my family and my friends, LeBron James, via statement.
James was then asked if he felt the
need to promote the vaccine.
We're talking about individuals' bodies. We're not talking about something that's, you know, political or racism or police brutality, LeBron James, via statement.
So I don't feel like, for me personally, I should get involved in what other people should do with their bodies and their livelihoods, LeBron James, via statement.
According to Lakers
coach Frank Vogel,
his team is
100% vaccinated.
As for the NBA as a whole, about 90% of players have been inoculated. There is currently no mandate for the league.
A vaccine mandate for NBA players would need an agreement with the Players Association. The NBA has made these proposals but the players' union has rejected any vaccination requirement, Mike Bass, NBA spokesperson, via statement
