Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched 35 crop varieties with special traits developed by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to address the twin challenges of climate change and malnutrition. The new crop varieties were dedicated to the nation through a video conference organized at all ICAR institutes, state and central agricultural universities, and Krishi Vigyan Kendra. While addressing the people, PM Modi stated that farming is our ancient tradition, but we have to move towards the future. Therefore, modern technology is necessary, which is like a new tool for farming. To connect the farmers with technology, we helped them with the banks and this process has been made very easy for their convenience. More than two crore farmers have been given Kisan Credit Cards. Fish farming farmers have also benefited from this. Watch this video.
