Highways Blocked, Protest Marches Mark One Year Of Anti-Farm Law Protests

Farmers had called for Bharat Bandh on September 27, to mark one year of the contentious farm laws. The bandh call was given by Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of over 40 farm unions. The bandh was called from 6 am to 4 pm. Protesters blocked highways and railway tracks. Educational institutions, Shops, commercial establishments and markets remained shut. Heavy traffic jam was witnessed on the Delhi-Gurugram Highway. Highways from Rohtak to Delhi, Hisar and Chandigarh were blocked in Haryana. Protests were seen in Tamil Nadu as well. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “I Stand With The Farmers.” Watch the video to know more.
