Will farmers' protest affect UP Govt in its election?
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of over 40 farmer unions, has called for a 'Bharat Bandh' on Monday to mark one year of the passage of the Centre's three farm laws. The call for the bandh has been supported by major opposition parties including the Congress, BSP, Aam Aadmi Party, Samajwadi Party, Telugu Desam Party, Left parties, and Swaraj India. But everyone's eyes were fixed on Rakesh Tikait, who was leading the front at Ghazipur border in Delhi. Rakesh Tikait termed the Yogi government's decision to increase the support price of sugarcane by Rs 25 a day ago as a breach of promise. BJP is on target of farmer organizations, but the UP government of Yogi Adityanath is stating it to be the biggest farmer-friendly. From increasing the support price of sugarcane to taking back the cases imposed on the farmers, it is justifying the works done in favor of farmers. Will farmers' protests affect the UP Government in the upcoming elections? Watch this video.
