Tanning is the process of treating the skins and skins of animals to produce leather. A tannery is a place where leather management.

Leather-to-skin tanning involves a process that permanently changes the protein structure of the skin, making it more durable and less prone to decomposition, and possibly a lot too.

Prior to tanning, the skin is de hair, greased, de-salted and soaked in water for six hours for two days. The history of this process is considered a dangerous or "smelly trade" and is relegated to the outskirts of the city.
