Sensex Hits 60,000 Mark For The First Time, Just Eight Months After Touching 50,000 Mark In January

On September 24, Sensex scaled the 60,000 milestone in early trading. The Nifty, too touched, a record intraday high of 17,927.20 points at 9.15 am just after the pre-open session. The Sensex opened at 60,158.76 points from its previous close of 59,885.36 points. This comes amid a continuing decline in covid-19 cases, rising vaccination & improvement in the economic environment.
