The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC committee) has changed the rules and removed the word batsman from cricket. Now only one word will be used for female and male cricketers and that is 'Batter'. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has raised questions on this change of MCC. Tharoor says that the batsman has been battered but what will you do with the third.

मैरिलबोन क्रिकेट क्लब यानी MCC समिति ने नियमों में बदलाव करते हुए बैट्समैन शब्द को क्रिकेट से हटा दिया है. अब महिला और पुरुष क्रिकेटरों के लिए सिर्फ एक शब्द का इस्तेमाल होगा और वो है 'बैटर'। MCC के इस बदलाव पर कांग्रेस सांसद शशि थरूर ने सवाल खड़े किए हैं. थरुर का कहना है कि बैट्समैन को बैटर तो कर दिया लेकिन थर्ड का क्या करोगे.
