The "Original Six"

The "Original Six" are the 6 founding teams of the National Hockey League. They are the core of the modern NHL. Montreal Canadiens: Founded in 1909, this is the oldest team in hockey History. They won 24 Stanley Cup, plus set a bunch of records in the league. 50 players from the Canadiens have been granted the Hockey Hall of Fame. Toronto Maple Leafs: Back in 1917, they were called the Toronto Arenas. But during history the name has changed many times, but from 1927 until now they are the Maple Leafs. They were hockey dynasty from the 40's until 1951 as they won many Stanley Cups. Boston Bruins: One of the oldest US team, founded in 1924. Also know as the "Big Bad Bruins", they were once the best hockey team in the league... Detroit Red Wings: They started as the Detroit Cougars, in 1926, making them also one of the oldest team in the US. The Red Wings are one of the most successful US team, they won 11 Stanley Cups. New York Rangers: Within two years after foundation (1926), the Rangers won the Stanley Cup... But 1940 being the last year they won a cup, it was then named the "Curse of 1940." They then went on to have the record of 54 years without championship. Chicago Blackhawks: The Hawks were founded in 1926, their logo is considered as the most estetic in the league. The logo of the Native American is on the floor of the clubhouse, it's considered sacred, no one steps on it and its kept illuminated at all times.
