MS Dhoni, who had brought about a revolution in Indian cricket, as he led a young team to the title in the maiden ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, announced his retirement on August 15, 2020.

ICC T20I World Cup 2021 के लिए Team India की Squad का ऐलान बीती रात कर दिया गया। इस Squad में कुछ नाम चौकाने वाले रहे, हालांकि जिस नाम ने सभी को चौकाया वो नाम था Mahendra Singh Dhoni का। दरअसल BCCI ने T20 World Cup 2021 के लिए चुनी गयी Team के ऐलान के साथ ये भी सभी को बताया की पूर्व भारतीय कप्तान Mahendra Singh Dhoni इस मेगा Event के लिए Team के साथ बतौर Mentor जुड़े हुए होंगे।
