The Union Cabinet has approved the PLI scheme also known as Production Linked Incentive for specific segments in the textiles industry. A package of more than Rs 10,600 crore will be allocated for 10 different segments of the textiles sector as part of the scheme. The PLI scheme, which has been approved for several sectors, is aimed at boosting manufacturing activities and jobs, besides scaling up exports.
