Mullah Akhund to head Taliban's new interim government in Afghanistan

The Taliban have announced their new interim government in Afghanistan. It will be headed by Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, who is still listed as a terrorist by the United Nations (UN) over his suspected role in the destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas in March 2001.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, will serve as a deputy to Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, along with Mawlavi Hanafi.
