Under the aegis of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), a massive 'Kisan Mahapanchayat' in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar kicked off on Sunday where the farmers' body launched 'Mission Uttar Pradesh-Uttarakhand' to give a boost to their protest against Centre's farm laws. Important announcements related to the kisan morcha's Bharat bandh call were also made at Sunday's mahapanchayat. Thousands of farmers from 15 states gathered at the Government Inter College (GIC) ground in Muzaffarnagar to participate in the mahapanchayat aimed at "saving the country", just months ahead of the crucial UP assembly polls. Opposition parties have started targeting BJP by placing it on the shoulders of farmers, their own conferences are being held and the gist of these conferences is that there is a big fight ahead in UP.
