A tunnel-like structure was discovered at the Delhi Legislative Assembly on September 02. The tunnel connects the Legislative Assembly to the Red Fort. Speaking to ANI, Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel said that there is no clarity over tunnel’s history but Britishers used this tunnel to avoid reprisal while moving freedom fighters. “We have managed to identify its mouth (origin) but won't dig any further. Soon we will refurbish it and make it available for the public. Hoping the renovation work to be done by August 15 next year,” he added.
