Asian Para Games 2018 bronze medalist Vinay Kumar Lal has been working in a private call centre in Mohali to support his younger brother and himself after the death of his father. “No support from Chandigarh govt since 2018. I have been visiting Chandigarh Sports Council office for my rewards but to no avail,” said Vinay while speaking to ANI.

Bronze Medalist Kumar, who suffers from an impairment in his left leg due to polio, said, “I took up call center job after my father's demise. Family responsibilities are on my shoulders now. Currently, I'm preparing for Asian Youth Para Games for which I juggle between the call center and a job as a taxi driver. Due to a tough schedule, I get to sleep for 2-3 hours.”
