S&P 500 Doubles From Its Major Low
The S&P 500 has doubled from its Covid low on March 23, 2020. It took just 354 days to reach this milestone, making it the fastest bull market, doubling off a bottom since World War II. On average, it takes 1,000 for a bull market to produce this growth. The S&P 500 closed at a record 4,479.71 Monday. Some credit this jump to the unprecedented fiscal stimulus during the pandemic. Last year, the Federal Reserve cut interest rates to near zero. Financial markets were flooded with $120 billion in an emergency monthly bond purchase. The government has also dumped trillions in Covid relief spending to struggling Americans.
