Meet Vijayapriya lives in Pammal Chennai,For the past two years she feeds Parrots,Pigeons,Crow and Squirrel on her Terrace.She transfers the soaked rice to a huge container and get the rice to the terrace and feed them.She first began feeding the crow and then couple of parrots appeared on her terrace. Soon, she was caring for 500 parrots everyday and close to 2000 during the winters.
Daily she assembles small portions of the grains for each bird and aligns them neatly on the wall. The process takes him another half an hour,The portions help them eat at their own pace without interfering with their fellow birds. Sometimes, even squirrel come to eat here.
She follows the same practice in the evening and Morning
They are a part of her life, She spend nearly 20,000 rupees per month looking after them and for their food expenses with the help of her Husband and son.Watching her feeding the birds is a majestic and spectacular sight. Many people who pass through this way stand and watch her for a long time and they get inspired from her.
Vijayapriya's humble words and awe-inspiring efforts for the parakeets show that peaceful co-existence between birds and humans is possible. We just need to be more accepting and considerate with other species cohabiting this planet with us. Kudos to him for his endeavour!
