The truck can be seen driving forward in an attempt to get off the track. The train then strikes the wind turbine blade, rolling the semi on its side.

During the investigation, it was learned that as the train was nearing the Davis Dr. railroad crossing, 54-year-old Richard Tetreault proceeded through the functioning railroad crossing arm guard signals in an attempt to beat the approaching train. The train collided with the truck and pushed it approximately 1500 feet before the train could come to a rest.

Tetreault was transferred to University Medical Center where he was treated for injuries including broken ribs and a collapsed lung. Tetreault was issued a citation relative to Motor Vehicles Approaching Railroad Crossings.
