Can We Really Believe The Taliban Have Changed

The incoming Taliban regime has been making some very different noises to it’s prior incarnation. As well as claiming there will be no reprisals for ordinary Afghans previously employed or associated with deposed US-backed authorities, it has also talked about maintaining women’s rights to work and to education. The question is: should we believe them?
