Hakainde Hichilema declared Zambia President

The curtain has come down on Edgar Lungu's six-year rule in Zambia. The country’s Electoral Commission has declared the leader of the United Party for National Development, Hakainde Hichilema, the president-elect. While Lungu claims the vote was neither free nor fair, international election observers say the polls were transparent and peaceful. Nicole Beardsworth from Wits University, speaks more on this.
