Giving it back to the eight Central ministers, who on August 12 held a joint press conference and accused the Congress-led Opposition of 'not letting the Parliament run’, Derek O'Brien, Trinamool Congress MP pitched eight questions to the ministers. The Trinamool Congress MP even termed the press conference as a 'faff’. Derek O’Brien while refuting all the allegations levelled by the Centre asked eight questions to the ministers. He asked, “Why was the Prime Minister missing during the OBC debate in Parliament?” He asked, “Why has the government not elected a deputy speaker in the Lok Sabha in two years?” He asked, “Why didn’t you allow the opposition a discussion on Pegasus, farm laws?” Derek O’Brien also asked, “Whose business is it to run the parliament?” RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha also posted these eight questions in Hindi. The Ministers on August 12 said that opposition must apologise for "disruptive (and) threatening behaviour" that forced Parliament to close two days ahead of schedule. On August 12 morning, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi & several other opposition leaders gathered to protest the abrupt end to the monsoon session and the alleged assault on MPs, including women.
