PV Sindhu Wins Bronze At Tokyo Olympics 2020: PM Modi, Deepika Padukone & Others Shower Praise

India’s star shuttler PV Sindhu has won bronze at Tokyo Olympics. On August 1, Sindhu defeated China’s He Bingjiao to win her second consecutive medal. With this win, Sindhu became the first Indian female sportsperson to win two medals at Olympics & second Indian Olympian with two medals after wrestler Sushil Kumar. After winning the medal, PV Sindhu said, “I'm on cloud nine.” An elated PV Ramana, Sindhu's father said, “PM encouraged her & told Sindhu that we'll eat ice-cream together after returning from Tokyo.” As soon as she won, PM Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind & many celebrities took to their respective social media handles to congratulate Sindhu. Former Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said, “Very proud of you PV Sindhu.” Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi & Priyanka Gandhi also congratulated Sindhu. God of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar wrote, “You have made the whole nation very very proud.” Anil Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Varun Dhawan, Sara Ali Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Abhishek Bachchan, Mahesh Babu, Anupam Kher, Sonali Bendre, Sunny Deol and others also congratulated PV Sindhu.
