Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur visited the landslide site in Lahaul Spiti on July 31. He was accompanied by Himachal Pradesh Technical Minister Ram Lal Markanda. Chief Minister hailed the efforts made by ITBP teams in retrieving dead bodies and in assisting local authorities. Speaking to mediapersons, CM Thakur said that six bridges are completely damaged. “Rain has wreaked havoc in Lahaul Valley. Six bridges are damaged completely. Stranded tourists are being shifted to safer places.” Out of 178 tourists, 66 of them are still stranded in the district as of July 31.
