Rakesh Asthana, a senior IPS officer of Gujarat cadre, was on Tuesday appointed as the Delhi Police Commissioner. Asthana has been given this charge four days before his retirement. Now the Congress has raised questions on the appointment of Rakesh Asthana as the new commissioner of Delhi Police. Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera has said that the Center has given this post to Asthana, bypassing all the criteria.
