Raj Kundra sent to 14-day judicial custody

A Mumbai court Tuesday sent businessman Raj Kundra, arrested on charges of making porn movies and showing them through an app, in judicial custody.

Mumabi Police had presented in Esplanade Court at the end of his police remand and sought an extension to the same. However, the defence opposed the plea, following which Kundra was sent to judicial custody for 14 days along with his company’s IT chief Ryan Thorpe.

Kundra’s bail plea will come up for hearing on Wednesday.

Mumbai Police say that on the basis of Kundra’s statement and electronic evidence, more arrests are likely to be made in this case soon. Actress Sherlyn Chopra was also summoned by police for questioning on Tuesday.

Kundra, the husband of Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty, was arrested on July 19 by the Crime Branch.
