Time to Rethink College Admissions?

The University of California system recently joined the ranks of colleges no longer requiring the SAT/ACT as part of their admissions process. Advocates for the move say the test can exclude talented students, opponents say there needs to be some kind of universal metric upon which to judge incoming freshmen. Anthony P. Carnevale, Director of the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce speaks to us about the issue, Dr. Carnevale has advised Presidents Clinton, Bush and Reagan on issues of employment and higher education. We also gauge the opinions of Californians about the change to the UC admissions.
