En chantier, bien au chaud et à l’abri des regards indiscrets depuis la fin février, le Maxi Edmond de Rothschild a retrouvé l’air libre hier, mardi 8 juin, avant de rejoindre les eaux lorientaises de la base des sous-marins de Kéroman.
Pour vivre cette remise à l’eau au plus près du Gitana Team et du géant de 32 mètres, les équipes de polaRYSE ont choisi de se placer du point de vue de l’emblème de l’écurie aux cinq flèches, à travers l’œil de la gitane. Redessinée en 2017 par le street-artiste américain Cleon Peterson, la sirène d’origine s’est muée en une déesse à la chevelure démesurée qui porte au creux de sa main la terre … Placée à l’étrave de la coque centrale du maxi-trimaran, elle voit tout et entend tout.
Point de départ de la saison, la remise à l’eau propose ici une invitation poétique avant une reprise sportive qui s’annonce intense avec pas moins de trois grands rendez-vous au programme 2021, dont une tentative de Trophée Jules Verne pour conclure l’année !
Comfortable in winter refit, far from prying eyes since the end of February, the Maxi Edmond de Rothschild went back outside yesterday, Tuesday June 8th, before getting back in the water in the Keroman submarine base.
To follow the Gitana Team and the 32-meter giant during the launch, the polaRYSE team chose the point of view of the five-arrow team emblem: through the eyes of the gypsy. Redesigned in 2017 by the American street-artist Cleon Peterson, the mermaid morphed into a crazy-haired goddess who holds the Earth in her hand… Placed at the bow, she can see and hear everything.
Starting point of the season, the launch is a poetic break before the competitions start again with three big events for 2021, amongst which a Jules Verne Trophy attempt!
