A Palaeolithic site has been found in the Mangarbani hill forest in Haryana's Faridabad. The state archaeological department suggested that this can be possibly the largest site in the Indian subcontinent. Stone Age tools were recovered from different open-air sites as well as from rock shelters. Cave paintings on the site were brought to the department's attention in May 2021 by environmental activist Sunil Harsana. The cave paintings are yet to be dated. Some of the paintings are prehistoric and a few are of later phases.
