The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for Mumbai, and for nearby areas. Mumbai to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall today. The intensity of rains is expected to reduce from Thursday onwards, the IMD said. Mumbai city on Tuesday received 51.5 mm rainfall. High tide is also expected in the afternoon, between 3 pm to 4 pm.
