What Makes FILIPINO Culture Different from AMERICAN Culture- - John Smulo
  • 3 years ago
As an American expat living in Cebu Philippines for more than a year, I've noticed a few differences the Filipino culture has from the American culture.

In this episode, we will be talking about some of these differences and I will attempt to show them to you.

Come along if you're curious too!

The most notable difference would be the time. As an American, I always rush things so that I could be on time for appointments. Meanwhile, my Filipino friends take their time, and sometimes they arrive an hour late.

They also use their lips to point at things. I wonder why they don't just use their fingers?

The next is their love for karaoke. If you've ever been to the Philippines, you will notice how Filipinos love singing (and many of them have amazing voices, too) that they use not only video karaoke but also their phones to sing.

There are plenty of differences, but I think it's best to watch the full video (and Part 2, too).

As always, thank you for taking the time to watch. Take care!
