The AIADMK's Thoothukudi unit allegedly passed a resolution calling on ousted leader Sasikala to take over as AIADMK general secretary and to lead the party. 
Executives of all sections of the AIADMK in the Kovilpatti region of Thoothukudi district, including Rupam K Velavan, who was recently removed from the AIADMK, took part in the meeting. 
At the meeting, the party workers also condemned the removal of those who had spoken to Sasikala on the phone from the AIADMK.
